How To Contact Blog Owners For Guest Posting

Guest Post Request

If you want to increase the number of people who read your blog and get higher SEO rankings that result in your name and posts showing up higher in search rankings, then guest blogging is an excellent place to start.

Guest blogging might seem fairly easy. You reach out to a few blogs who post similar, but non-competitive content and ask them to post an article. However, there is definitely an art to guest blogging. Here’s a short guide on how to get started and become a successful guest blogger.

Step 1: Build A Quality List.

The internet is filled with thousands of blogs that need to be researched to confirm that the blog takes guests posts, has regular posts and enough followers to warrant you guest blogging for them. Start by googling the top 100 blogs on your topic of choice. It’s also good to keep an eye out for popular blogs that those blogs follow because that’s another way to get your posts in front of more people. As an alternative, you can use a guest blog network, just like Blogguests.com. Guest Blogging networks are the easy way to find blogs that are accepting guest posts.

Step 2: Write a Personalized Email that Gets Noticed.

After you’ve completed your list, make sure to send out personalized email requests to each blogger that include a comment about a recent article or something unique to their site. Start with a subject line that will get noticed and stand out. And, always keep your emails short and precise. One short paragraph that is clear and takes a short amount of time to read is much better than an over explained, long email that looks inaccessible. It’s okay to have a general idea of what you will say to each blogger you reach out to, but remember that top blogs get hundreds, if not thousands of requests per week, so you’ll need to stand out in the crowd to be considered for guest blogging.

Step 3: Make Sure to Cater to Their Audience and Needs

Include how you will add value when guest blogging and note how they and their readers will benefit from your article. Also, while you’ll want to make sure you are current and relevant as a guest blogger, you will also want to make sure you’re actually giving the readers a new angle if your topic has been heavily covered. So, bring your own unique voice and perspective to your writing.

Guest blogging can be hard work, but definitely pays off if you do it consistently.
